About our operations

Prime Air is committed to safe, transparent, and responsible drone delivery operations.

Prime Air is a Part 135 certificated air carrier authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conduct commercial drone package delivery operations.
The MK30 is purpose-built from the ground up with aerospace-level engineering to deliver packages safely, quietly, and reliably.
Flight profile
Our drones operate within a defined flight profile designed to minimize interaction with manned aviation.
Cruise Altitude

Delivery center to customer: 205–250 feet above ground level (AGL)

Customer to delivery center: 325–370 feet above ground level (AGL)
Delivery

The drone descends to 13 feet (4 meters) before delivering to the selected delivery point.

It may alter the delivery point if ground hazards are detected in the vicinity.
Flight Paths

Pre-planned, fixed routes are reviewed for airspace conflicts prior to operations.

Drones are monitored during flight by trained Prime Air Flight Monitors.
Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS)

All operations are conducted under FAA-approved BVLOS authorizations.
Hours of Operation
Operations are conducted within defined delivery windows during daylight hours in accordance with regulatory approvals. Specific operating hours vary by site.
Weather Conditions
Operations are suspended during adverse weather conditions, including high wind, low visibility conditions, and moderate or heavy precipitation. All flights are subject to real-time weather monitoring and go/no-go decision systems. Flights are conducted under visual meteorological conditions (VMC).
How we fly safely with others
Safety is the foundation of Prime Air operations and our number one tenet. We employ a multi-layered approach to ensure safe integration into the National Airspace System (NAS).
Where we deliver
Prime Air currently operates at select sites across the United States. In 2026, we are expanding service to millions of customers. Each site undergoes rigorous airspace analysis and regulatory review prior to launch.
Delivering at scale
Our network completes thousands of deliveries per day during designated operating hours. As we expand to new sites and optimize our network, our fleet is delivering more packages to more customers every day.
Coordinating with drone operators
Prime Air actively coordinates with other BVLOS Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operators through participation in UAS Traffic Management (UTM). We partner with FAA-accepted UTM service providers to enable digital coordination between drone operators in shared airspace. Our operations are integrated into UTM data-sharing ecosystems to support strategic deconfliction.
Interaction with local first responders
We recognize the critical role of local public safety UAS operations and are committed to safe coordination with law enforcement, fire, and emergency response drone programs.

Community engagement & outreach
Prime Air is committed to proactive engagement with the aviation community and local stakeholders.

We notify aviation stakeholders within and adjacent to the service area prior to launching operations at new sites. Our team participates in industry working groups, FAA forums, and community outreach events to drive the conversation toward safe, efficient, and equitable airspace access. We provide operational briefings and point-of-contact information to local aviation authorities and public safety agencies.
Our drones use cameras and other sensors to navigate, sense and avoid obstacles, deliver packages, and land.

You can opt out of drone delivery at your address. Once the request is completed, no one can place orders for drone delivery to the address.
Prime Air is redefining ultra-fast delivery.

We’re pioneering a highly autonomous, ultra-fast drone delivery system designed to bring lightweight packages to homes worldwide.

Building something this ambitious takes a wide range of talent — from aviation engineering and drone maintenance to flight operations, health and safety, and project management.
